July 30, 2016 – This picture was taken in Ear Falls, Ontario Canada. It was taken on the last day that I was going to be in Canada. That morning I decided that I was going to get up at 5 a.m. and just drive the 14 hours straight home, which was a couple hours longer than normal because of the flooding that was happening in northern Wisconsin. That being said I got up a couple hours earlier because I wanted to be home before it was completely dark. While getting up that morning I noticed the beautiful landscape picture and had to capture the moment. One of my favorite quotes by Karl Lagerfeld states, “what I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” This quote fascinates me because every moment is different based on emotions, outlook on life, and your current mental state. The most important concept is that we can capture these moments and freeze them for an eternity. Holding the moment forever. Therefore, the picture is named after what it represents… A moment in time.
A Moment in Time is really a story a moment that shows its emotion. The oranges and yellows are there to describe how the light will always come and a positive moment will always overcome the darkness. This is shown as the light reflects off of the water and illuminates the above clouds. The piers in the picture depict a person being able to walk of the darkness into the light. Overall, the picture describes how a moment, no matter how bad it is, can always become a happy and light feeling.
